Dear Students,

 

It looks like we’ve blasted through another summer and are looking at getting back into the classroom. Seems like we are returning to school really early this year, but I promise school will be 180 days as always, so take heart!

 

At this time we are looking at about 15 students in the 7^th and 8^th grade class. With the rotation of subjects, we are focusing on Geography for our social studies unit. We are kicking off the year with Asia.

 

I was able to attend a workshop on the new Pathways program and am excited to be able to blend language arts and Geography. We will be reading books from the areas we will be studying, and connecting Spelling and English to the Reading and Geography lessons.

 

This year the big field trip is in the spring and will be in the Oak Harbor area. There will be opportunities to help raise funds for this trip during the year. With some work and planning, we can get that cost down before the trip takes place.

 

Please take a look at the supplies list. Buy your supplies for the year now while they are on sale. Then you can tuck them away for later.
