         Parent Letter 2010

Everyone has a need to have a sense of community, that sense of belonging when many hearts and minds come together to work toward a common goal and live by a common set of behavioral standards. With Jesus as our consistent role model, in this classroom we will endeavor to work together in an atmosphere that emphasizes the following Lifelong Guidelines:

· Trustworthiness
·
Truthfulness
·
Active Listening
·
No Put-downs
· Personal Best

In our “school family” these guidelines will provide consistent parameters and expectations of conduct. Following these guidelines will help ensure that all of us are in a safe environment that encourages learning and living by the Golden Rule. The “Personal Best Guideline” includes 18 Lifeskills that you will be hearing more about as we journey through this year.

On the first day of school your child will bring home a "packet" of information to help acquaint you with some of my classroom policies, procedures, and philosophy of why I do certain things. This will be a reading assignment for you and your child to read together.  Your signature in the reading assignment section of the day planner confirming that you and your child have read this together will be worth 100 points and is due on Friday, August 31.

As the year progresses, we may see the need to make some adjustments to accommodate our group’s needs. I will do my best to keep you informed of any changes made to the information you receive. I greatly appreciate you staying in contact with me with any of your questions or concerns about my policies and procedures.  As a TEAM working together I know that we will have a great year together.
