Renae Young

Welcome to the Yakima Adventist Christian School (YACS) website.  I hope you will be able to find the information you are looking for as you look at our website. If you have any unanswered questions or would like more information please contact us.

My name is Renae Young, and I am happy to be back in Washington State after living in Rockford, IL for some time. I am married and have three children that have either attended or are still attending YACS. We’re enjoying the higher elevations (hurray, mountains!) found here.
I have found in my time here that YACS is blessed with an extremely supportive community.  It has been exciting working with our teachers and constituents while planning for upcoming school activities.

YACS has an environment that promotes high academic achievement.  Each teacher strives to bring out the best in each student.
At YACS we believe that in order to have a strong Christian school, our foundation must be built  on God’s Word, the Bible.  This year’s spiritual theme is the Armor of God.  The students in grades 7-10 attended a leadership retreat where they learned what it meant to be "all in" for Christ.  We strive to deepen the students’ understanding of the Bible and strengthen their relationship with God through daily Bible study, discussion, and prayer.  YACS is also very active in community outreach.  Each of our students will learn the joy of helping others through outreach and service.

May God bless you in your search for Christian education for your child or children.

Cognitive Genesis (www.cognitivegenesis.org) is a 4-year study of 30,000 students, grades 3-9 and 11, enrolled in Adventist Schools across North America.  Not only do students who attend Adventist schools achieve half a grade level higher in all subjects than predicted based on their ability scores, but they also gain the benefits of Adventist education shown by other research--strong spiritual lives and healthy lifestyle choices.
